February 26, 2013, San Francisco, CA – The Bay Area Discovery Museum and the Center for Childhood Creativity in Sausalito, California partnered with Give by Cell to implement its Mobile Pledge fundraising platform and Screencasting for their “Creativity Forum 2013.” The Bay Area Discovery Museum’s Creativity Forum advances the importance of cultivating creativity in children, and exemplifies how the Bay Area Discovery Museum is a critical resource for preparing children for the challenges of the 21st century.
Using Give by Cell’s Mobile Pledge, the Museum made several calls-to-action to a banquet hall full of supporters during the keynote by Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg, a leading pediatrician specializing in Adolescent Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and an Associate Professor of Pediatric at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Using Give by Cell’s Screencasting option, they projected donation amounts in real time along with an encouraging message on giant screens. The interactive thermometer tracked their fundraising progress while keeping attendees excited about the tech-friendly donation option. Comments from attendees included:
“The forum was really fun. The event was well done and I learned a great deal as always from Ken Ginsburg. The connection between Resilience and Creativity/Play that Ken made was powerful. I loved the gift giving through cell phones. Great work”.”
“This was a terrific event, my guests all thought Dr. Ginsburg was one of the best speakers they have heard. The mission of the Museum and the Center for Childhood Creativity came through very clearly and the gift giving through cell phones was terrific!”
Using Give by Cell’s Mobile Pledge service, supporters could text “CREATE” the dollar amount they pledged to donate, and their name to 56512, and a representative from Bay Area Discovery Museum would call supporters to collect the funds. For more information about Mobile Pledge, please click here.

About the Bay Area Discovery Museum & Center for Childhood Creativity
Creative thinking begins early in every child’s life. It enables original thought and the ability to see solutions where others don’t. It unlocks possibilities and fosters innovation. It provides the fundamental building blocks for success by preparing children for later stages of learning. The Bay Area Discovery Museum is designed to ignite creative thinking in children. An expansive 7.5 acres of natural beauty inspires families to engage in a world of possibilities. Framed with the majestic backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Museum is a space for imagination to flourish, where every curated detail is aimed at fostering physical and intellectual risk-taking in children. Child-centered exhibits bring creative thinking to life through never-ending tunnels that awaken minds to new possibilities or cold-water tidal pools that surprise and act as a beacon for curious hands. At every turn is a chance to take charge and transform into a spider, a ship captain, or a construction engineer. More than 300,000 visitors come here annually to challenge the boundaries of creativity. Now the Museum is taking these experiences beyond its own physical boundaries. We launched the Center for Childhood Creativity in 2011 to pioneer new research, thought-leadership and teacher training programs that advance creative thinking in all children—both Museum visitors and those who may not have the access or ability to visit the Museum.
OUR MISSION: To ignite and advance creative thinking for all children.
